  • Summing it up

    MiLadies,

My goodness!  A whopping 48 participated in this challenge!  That’s an astonishing number and the largest turnout this blog ring has ever had!

With 105 members and one pending her application!

What I’d like to do is to let all of you who have subbed to this site that I’d really appreciate it if you decided to also join the blog ring!  I see many names and 5 new ones from this challenge session who have subbed to the site, but have not joined the blog ring!  Please, if you wish to participate and to have your name linked from this site, JOIN!  JOIN!

I’m so thankful to all of my Queens who took the time to do this challenge.  And I want you other Queens who couldn’t to know that I do understand your reasonings as to why this one hit a bit too close to home.  As I state over in the Rules of this B/R to the left, I don’t expect everyone to participate each and every time, but I do wish you could bring yourselves to join in at least once every couple of months.

I will be doing a “purge” of members who have never participated, or who’s sites have been closed down or those who have not made an entry in their blogs in 2 months or longer.  If you honestly don’t want me to purge your name, please let me know the reason your not participating and if you intend to in future challenges. (That is for those members who have NOT participated or who have not blogged in 2 or more months).

This was a challenge that seemed to strike a cord with so many of you!  I noticed (and I wasn’t the only one) that we nearly all advised our younger selves to Love ourselves.  Something that doesn’t come easy when we are young!

Thank you all again for such a wonderful turnout!

If anyone has any ideas for the next challenge, please let me know through email or through the new message center that Xanga has established.

Hugs!  Until the next time, I bow to you all~Kween

  • MiLadies,

I have been thinking and looking and listening for days and days and I finally heard a subject that I think will be wonderful for a writing challenge!  I admit, I stole it from a blurb I heard about small segment on the Oprah show!  Hey, anywhere I can get inspiration, right?

    Here is the challenge:

Writing a letter to your younger self.

What would you say to your younger self?  What advice would you give?  Would you offer tips for changing a certain situation?

This challenge is due NEXT WEDNESDAY, the 23rd of August.  The challenge will run for 3 days.  So post on the following days, the 23rd, 24th(Thursday) and the 25th (Friday). Follow the instructions given on the left entitled “How this BR works”

I’ll see you on the 23rd!

    Hugs~Kween

  • M’Ladies:

My, What a turn out we had for MsBeautyExperts idea!  Everyone seemed to really love the idea.  So, thank you M’Lady, thank you for your lovely idea!  You did a fine job of hosting and I invite you back at any time to guest host!

I’m so pleased that I saw my name on so many of your blogs!  I bow before you to tell you all that without you, what a sad world this would be!  I am the one who is truly honored to be able to connect to each and every  one of you!

Please notice that I have filled out my left hand custom module with the standard instructions for this blog ring.  I thought that it would be easier for me to refer you to it each time rather than typing it out over and over.  This way, you can all refer to it for insturctions each time!

I am proud to tell you that we now have over 100 members in our blog ring!  For now that is.  Because occasionally I come across a blog that has not posted at all, I’ll go ahead and delete them from the blog ring.  Those who have never participated in our challenges are encouraged to please join in!

During the course of this challenge, Queenlizzy mentioned that she had an idea for a writing challenge. . . so, hopefully, our next writing challenge (2006-11) is already in the works. . .check back for updates on this.

Thank you all for your participation!  It is So appreciated!

    Hugs~Kween

    EDIT:

Do to circumstances beyond her control, Queenlizzy will have to hold off on hosting a new challenge.  Her husband was promoted at his job and they are having to move to Alaska in the next few weeks!  I don’t want any more pressure on her than she already has, so I asked her if we should hold off and she thought that would be best.  In the mean time, if any of the rest of you have any ideas and would like to guest host, just let me know.  I’ll be giving it some thought myself!

    Ms_BeautyExpert

My name is Leslie so you guys know…

I had this awesome idea and suggested it to her majesty…

    I will title this challenge

    HONORING YOUR QUEENS AND LORDS”

    (Challenge 10 2006)

We all know we love to be appreciated or recognized rather

Our jobs, at home what have you right?

Well I have decided we need to appreciate each other as queens

And Lords of such a lovely blogring…

I have noticed that a lot of us are on each others subscriptions

    List as well…

So I am going to suggest to pick a minimum of 5 Queens and or Lords

And a maximum of how ever many you would like to do,

But basically we are going to appreciate or recognize the Queens and

    Lords we choose.

I won’t put a limit on how many you would like

    To recognize or appreciate…

Next to their name make a comment of why they’re special to you

On your subscriptions list or why you enjoy going to their page.

    PLEASE NOTE:

DON’T BE OFFENDED IF YOUR NAME DOES NOT APPEAR

ON ANY ONE’S LIST… EVERYONE IN THIS BLOGRING IS MUCH APPERCIATED BY YOUR ROYAL HIGHNESS I AM

SURE OF IT!!!! And well although I haven’t had the honor of seeing

Everyone’s page in the blogring.. I APPERCIATE YOU TOO!!! So

Let’s not take it personal if we don’t appear on someone’s page…

This is for the fun of it and just to see how many of us know or are subbed to one another!!!!

Here is the info on the challenge :

Like most the other challenges I will run it for 3 days just like Ms.Kween

    DUE DATE: August 6th, 2006

Dates that the challenge will run August 6th-8th

Once you have posted it like all the other challenges come by here and let us know you have posted it so me or Ms_Kween can link your site for everyone to check out your royal honoring of your fellow Queens and Lords…

Have fun with it be creative and do it how ever you choose!!

  • M’Ladies;

That was an interesting exercise!  I found it was very difficult for many of you to leave your families out of the equation!  Noting that you are “good moms” or “good wives”.  That’s fine, I totally understand that!

We, as mothers and wives and sisters, and daughters so often concentrate only on others!  What we forget as women is that we are just as human, special, and needy as those whom we care for!  We have the tendency to forget about who we are during the child rearing years. . . and then are shocked after the children leave because WOW we did have lives before them and we did come fully equipped! I’m Glad this challenge opened your eyes!

Although we relish our families, (a great joy in our lives) We are so much more than that!  My personal goal was to be a wife and mother (yes, I was raised in the ‘old school’).  I had to work as most of you do, but my ultimate goal was to be a SAH Mom.  I’ve been so fortunate that I’ve been able to accomplish that goal!  Even with the financial struggles along the way, I feel blessed that I am one of the few who have had this opportunity, but I have learned that I am more!  Just as you are more than what your job description is!  Yes, we have great love for our children, our husbands, our extended families, but sometimes we forget to extend that love to ourselves!

Remember, (one of my favorite sayings) “If Momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy”!

Love yourselves ladies, give your family the gift of a happy, fulfilled woman!

I’m very happy with this challenge and thank you all so much for joining in!  Until the next time.

  • Writing Challenge 2006-09 THE 12 BEST

    M’Ladies,

    New writing challenge today!

In our last challenge, I asked you to list 12 of your “annoying habits”.  I was surprized to find that a lot of those “bad habits” seemed to ring a cord with us. . .many of us have the same ones!

In this next challenge, I’m asking you the following question:

What are your 12 BEST qualities?

Now, you may list personality attributes, physical attributes, but you may NOT list family!  This is exclusively about YOU!

This challenge is to be posted on your blogs on THURSDAY, JULY 13 AND FRIDAY JULY 14.  That gives you an entire week to think about them.

Please remember to let me know that you have posted so that I may post a link to your sites.

Also, please put a link to either this site or the BLOG RING on your entries!

Because we have 95 members, please , if you get time, post a blurb about the new assignment on your daily blog so that all members may have a chance to participate if they want to.

    We’ll call this challenge:

    The 12 BEST

Be fair to yourselves, be kind to yourselves and be honest with yourselves. . . you certainly have AT THE VERY LEAST 12 WONDERFUL ATTRIBUTES!

    As always, have fun!

    Use your own styles!

  • M’Ladies

A very happy 4th of July to you all!  Just a quick notation here to let you know that our Blog Ring now has 95 members!

Although not all are “active”, that still says much of this blog ring.  I know that it is not the biggest membership, but I’m still proud that enough of you have taken the time to join and pass the word along to others!

As long as you enjoy the writing challenges, I know we will keep growing!

    Thank you all!

    ~Kween
