That was a fun challenge! In my enthusisam, I decided to compile a list of the 5 top movies from everyone’s list. What follows are those five:
1. Titanic
2. City of Angles
3. The Notebook
4. Sleepless in Seattle
5. Pretty Woman
Here are the “numbers”. This would be the number of individual lists these wonderful movies appeared on:
Titanic – 8
City of Angles – 8
The Notebook – 7
Sleepless in Seattle- 7
Pretty Woman- 6
As I went through the lists, I found many movies that I had either forgotten about, or had never seen. I have a few that I had considered and changed on my original list. . .I think they bear mention here. If you haven’t seen these, give them a chance. .
I considered the following:
First Knight starring Sean Connery and Richard Gere. . . A Camelot/King Arthur/Guienivere/Lancelot tale that I can’t help but watch everytime it’s on.
10 Things I Hate About You: Heath Ledger in on of his early carreer films. . He has dark hair in this one! It’s based on The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespere. . .an engaging rendition done with a modern teen spin
Edward Sicssorhands with Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder. . .a truely engaging story of fantasy that might leave you wondering what you just watched. . . odd/off kilter and at times just downright strange, but a love story nonetheless.
EverAfter with Drew Barrymore. . . “Just breathe” I always remember this line from the movie! She is wonderful in this slightly slanted Cinderella Story. . .I loved it!
Braveheart directed by and starring Mel Gibson. This is a fictional account of the life of Sir William Wallace. If there were ever a love story between a man and a woman, this one is it! It extends to love of country and freedom. Beautifully filmed and well worth the long viewing time.
Finding Neverland another Johnny Depp film. This is the story of James M. Barrie and his inspiration for his play “PeterPann”. Kate Winslet plays opposite as a widow with 4 adventrous boys. This is a magic, enchanting, and tragic movie and the relationships between Barrie and the boys is so special. . .I guarentee you’ll love this movie!
The Story of Us. (On of my back burner rfavorites) Here’s a movie that is current and so touching. With all the divorces today, this really strikes a cord. Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer are perfect as lovers and rivals. . . if you haven’t seen this movie, please do, you won’t be disappointed!
And, just for fun (my fun!) Check out a Bruce Willis movie entitled “The Fifth Element”
This futuristic sci-fi action/adventure is the very epitome of a love story, told in the extreme and you’ll know what I’m talking about by the end of this exciting, zaney film!
For REAL Love. . . I alwauys go with the 4 Lethal Weapon movies! No kidding. If there were ever a love story that reflects friendship. . .these are the ones! Besides, I still love Mel! Or perhaps it’s Martin Riggs that has really captured my heart!
I hope you’ll consider these suggestions. . .
I wish you all much love and happiness this Valentines Day!

I found so many new ones to look for and so many I’d forgotten about, like The Story of Us, a real good one!
This was a fun challenge, my Kween… thank you once again! (And thanks for posting the most popular… I was trying to keep track in my head… & got lost, lol!)
OMG… The Story of Us came out right when my ex and I started splitting up. I literally SOBBED through the whole thing. It was like they had a camera in my house! I sat there like “How do they KNOW that?” Amazing love story… plus, well, I have a mad crush on Bruce Willis.
Ooh, I forgot about The Story of Us.
I love love love 10 Things I Hate About You. Anyone else a sucker for While You Were Sleeping or The Truth About Cats and Dogs?
I’ve never seen The Story of Us… will have to add yet *another* movie to my Blockbuster cue! This was so much fun, and thanks again for giving us the topic!
